Financial Aid

MIT is committed to being financially accessible to the students that we accept. If you belong here, then we will work with you and your parents to help you finance your education.

MIT is one of six colleges/universities in the US that offer need-blind admission for both domestic and international students. We do not know what your finances are when we read your application. At no point during the process does the question of how much money your family does, or doesn't have, enter the admission process.

Our Afford pages provide information on tuition and fees, housing and dining costs, and books and personal expenses. We also have information on financial aid statistics and financial aid deadlines.

Although we provide information about financial aid on our Undergraduate Admissions website, all financial aid applications are processed by Student Financial Services. If you have a specific question or concern regarding financial aid, please write to Student Financial Services at sfs@mit.edu or visit the Student Financial Services contact page.
